Sar Pass Trek is one of the Shivalik range's most prominent trails. Sar is a lake in the local dialect. Sar Pass, located at an elevation of 14000 feet in Himachal Pradesh's Parvati Valley, is a moderately difficult trek. It serves as an excellent introduction to high-altitude trekking. This trek is also well-known among Indian hikers. Sar valley looks out over the stunning Parvati valley, which is rich in natural resources. Anow clad mountain, perennial streams, waterfalls, and lush green forests cover the valley. For any adventurous traveller and nature lover, it is the seventh heaven.

Day 1:

This day has been set aside for your reporting only; you can go shopping in Manikaran or nearby markets such as Kasol for required equipment and materials. Kasol is the starting point for most of the Parvati Valley trekking trails.

Day 2 :

The trek will begin in Kasol and end in Grahan village. Drive on the road before the trail begins. Locals often use the path leading up to the village, and you can see villagers walking by. The path winds its way through a thick, dense woodland, with streams and waterfalls. At first, the trail is easy. After passing the Grahan Nallah, the gradient becomes rocky and steep. The path becomes steeper for a while as we get closer to the Grahan village, and the village is visible. The Rhododendron trees surround the campsite at Grahan, which is close to the village. The village of Grahan dates back hundreds of years. On a beautiful evening, one can charm a traditional house and photograph the locals near the camp. As one gets to know the camp, the beauty becomes more relaxed and scenic. This camp is paradise for photographers, artists, and nature lovers. Spend the night at a peaceful campground.

Day 3 :

We'll be trekking to Min Thach for around 6 to 7 hours today. Locals typically use the trail to Min Thach to transport their livestock to higher pastures. The trail has a diverse variety of flora and fauna, including birds, insects, and other animals. The track gets steeper and leads into the woods as we climb higher. On the way, we stop at Ratapani for an incredible lunch in the middle of the forest. When walking through the dense forest, you can see the mesmerising thick canopy.

The path leads to a grassy patch of land after passing through the trees. The forest would gradually fade away, leaving open ground and valleys clear. The snow-capped mountains and valley below can be seen. We must climb a steep section before reaching the camp. The Min Thach is perched on a rocky outcropping and is surrounded by flat rocks. At this camp, the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. At night, one will enjoy looking at the stars and the Milky Way.

Day 4 :

Make an early start on this day to reach Nagaru. Today's trail is considerably steeper than the previous one. Nagaru will take about 7 hours to meet. The trail is a little difficult since it climbs through pastoral woodland to snow-covered meadows. When you climb higher, the air thins out, and you can experience mild altitude sickness symptoms including headaches and dizziness. These symptoms are a normal part of the body's response. To properly acclimate, drink plenty of water and keep your hands, nose, eyes, and ears open.
