Shimla is the globally recognized hill station of India and is crowned as the “Queen of Hills”. This majestically beautiful hill station of India is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. It has been the summer capital of British too, during the British rule in India. Shimla bestows the best of natural bounties with spectacular scenic landscape. Shimla is fringed with snow capped mountains and it affirms to be the most distinct tourist destination of India. This magnetizing hill station has acquired its name from the most devoted goddess of the time "Goddess Shyamala". The goddess was believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Kali.

Kufri and Narkanda have the best snow-covered terrains which not only bestows various adventure options but also some natural splendour. Skiing is a must experience adventure sport here. Jakhu Hill, being the highest peak of Shimla, provides a picturesque outlook of the whole town. The town is elegantly fringed with Himalayan ranges. Therefore, it is considered as a breath taking city which comprises mesmerizing sights. The Jakhu hill has the famous Hanuman Temple of Jakhu named as Jakhu temple. According to the mythological legends, it is believed that Lord Hanuman stopped at this place and rested for a while. He was carrying the 'Sanjiwani Booti', according to myths.
Besides Mall road, the Lower Bazaar, Tibetan Bazaar and Lakkar Bazaar are the famous places to shop which will surely be a delight to shopaholics. The bazaars includes a myriad of handicrafts, wood, and metalwork items, exclusive shawls, pullovers, local tweeds, Wooden articles and Toys, Tibetan carpets and pickles, specialized jams and squashes of Shimla. The Lakkar Bazaar and Tibetan Market are the exceptional market places that boast wooden handicrafts and fancy imported items respectively.
