Here is some information  for anyone wanting to know more about Koh Rong island  near Sihanoukville and Sok San beach bungalows.

 

Koh Rong Island is also called Koh Rung and is among many secluded and undeveloped islands spread all over Cambodian waters.

 

Koh Rong is around 33 klm  from Sihanoukville port  and is the largest island of the coast of Cambodia.

It length is over 15klm long and is due for development  by the royal group sometime in the future.

Now onto Sok San Beach Bungalows we are located on the east side of Koh Rong  In a beautiful bay with sheltered waters.

 

Our bungalows 14 are rustic and very simple with bathrooms and bed with mosquito net prices from $20 a night twin share we have extra fold out bed avalible for a extra $5 charge only one per bungalow

We also have a restaurant and bar overlooking the bay and 6klm of beautiful beach.

 

Nearby there is fishing of the rocks but we suggest you bring your own gear as our supply is limited.

 

Snorkelling is available for groups at the nearby reefs or you can snorkel in the clear turquoise waters of our bay.

where you will find some oysters, fish and if your real lucky you might  find a sea horse or 2 two and at certain times of year you can swim at night and see some  algae in the water that lights up when it's disturb.

 

Go swimming at night and the sea will illuminate around you.

 

Trek into the jungle 5 minutes and you come to waterfalls flowing wet season only.

You can also trek to other side of the island where there are more simple fishing villages.

But please allow 3 hours and take plenty of water with you.

 

To get to Sok San you will need to catch a boat from sihanoukville. 

The trip takes about 3 hours and costs $20 US per person return.

 

I would expect to see a increase in ticket prices this high season because of crazy increases in fuel prices.

 

The boat leaves at 8am each morning  and arrives back in sihanoukville around 5pm each day.

 

There is plenty of cheap accommodation in Sihanoukville and we even have our own hotel in sihanoukville with room prices starting at $7 for simple fan room to $15 for aircon hot water and fridge room check it out  at

Bungalows right on the beach  prices start from $20US twin share and $5 for each extra person with fold out bed.

 

For something more cheaper.

 

we have 5 rooms from $15 each twin share or you can rent a hammock for $10 a night and sleep in the great outdoors.

Where you can stroll through and check out the simple village life.

 

Taste true Cambodia food

 

But please be aware that the lack of Cambodian food hygiene can sometimes make you real sick and spoil your Holiday.

 

So please be aware of this before eating in the village.

 

Behind the bungalows is a small river coming from the water fall.

There you can stroll along the river next to the jungle and look for and catch mud crabs spider prawns and snake head fish.

 

In the jungle at night you can find fireflies flying around  but take a one of our staff with you so you don’t get lost in the jungle at night
