A spectacle to behold, anyone who has experienced it would cherish the memories and would like to witness the same over and over again. There is this ''magic'' attraction which the Mara is synonymous with especially during migration time!

Though the migration is a full cycle process, starting from Tanzania and onto Kenya and back again to Tanzania, its the Kenyan side which attracts hundreds of visitors, year in year out. May be its because of the river crossing? or the fact that Mara is smaller than Serengeti and hence the crowds are more crowded in an area? yet to really establish .

But would also like travelers know that Mara is a great reserve, to visit all year round and you are guaranteed of great rewards in terms of wildlife. The migration usually take place between July - October  end when the large heards of wildebeest start transiting back to Tanzania. During this period, its very tricky to even get accommodation in Masai Mara, irrespective of the many lodges and camps inside and outside the reserve! some people book their accommodations even a year ahead! professional photographers really know when to capture this, and are some of the clientele believed to spend even a month in Masai Mara just following the herds.

A typical day in Masai Mara, especially during the migration time would start early and end late in the day, again depending on your main aim of visiting.

You will have an early breakfast from your camp/lodge in the morning, and by 0630hrs set out for the day's activities. Depart your camp in the morning with packed lunches and go for a full day of game viewing. Most of the local driver guides know the river crossings spots and would ensure you witness this! Return to your camp/lodge in the late afternoon in preparation for your next day's activities

A balloon safari would be a great choice for game viewing. Dong the game viewing from a birds eye,and landing to a champagne breakfast tops it all!

For the accommodation choices, you have the options of staying in top end exclusive camps, mid range camps and budget camps as well. The camps/lodges are either located inside or outside the main reserve or in private conservancies around Mara.

Transport you have the option of going by air or road. Domestic airlines have scheduled flights connecting Masai Mara from Nairobi or other tourist destinations, or better still, you can have a private charter. Flights from Nairobi take approximate 45minutes to Mara. By road, you have the option of the standard tour vans ( 8 people maximum per vehicle) or more comfortable 4x4 land cruisers, also for either 6, 7 or 8 people.
