If I had to choose 5 best attractions in Paris, here are the ones I would recommend you to visit based on my personal experience.

1. Eiffel Tower

Perception of Paris without its symbol Eiffel Tower is impossible. It is built by Gustave Eiffel to commemorate the centenary of the French Revolution. The height of the tower reaches to 324 meters. This monument is considered as one of the most visited places in the world: nearly 7 million people. On the first floor is located the restaurant Eiffel Tower 58, which extends over two levels; it is 58 meters above the ground. The second floor has the best view having a 115 meters height. Eventually, on the third floor at 275 meters, you can find the office of Gustave Eiffel. And if you want to reach the summit 1665 meters, you should use the stairs.

2. Notre Dame Cathedral

A very important symbol of Paris is Notre-Dame de Paris, also known as Notre Dame. The cathedral is located on the eastern half of the Ile de la Cité. It is a perfect piece of structure describing French Gothic architecture in France and Europe. The construction has begun in 1163 and completed in 1345. The architectural details of the Notre-Dame are exquisite and sophisticated, becoming more abundant the closer you get. From my personal experience, I recommend you to walk around the cathedral, then go inside and climb the 387 steps to the top of the towers. Reaching the top, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the region and see the gargoyles more detailed.

3. Louvre Museum

Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world. The museum centuries ago was a royal palace having an area of 210,000 square meters out of which 60,600 is designed for the exhibitions. The huge collection of the art pieces is divided into eight categories:

  • Egyptian antiquities
  • Oriental antiquities
  • Greek, Etruscan and Roman
  • Islamic Art
  • Sculptures of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Modern Times
  • Objects of art
  • Paintings
  • Graphic arts.

The Louvre museum works 8 hours from 9 am to 6 pm, except on Tuesdays. But on Wednesdays and Fridays, it is open until 9:45 pm. So, if you want to make your journey memorable and have less wasted time on waiting lines, then better get acquainted with this kind of information beforehand to create your trip itinerary.

4. Montmartre

Montmartre is a hill having a 130 meters height located in the north of Paris. The days are gone when Montmartre was a tranquil village packed with vines and windmills. So, it is famous for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacred Heart, at the top, which was completed at the end of the second decade of the 20th century. The white-domed Basilica of the Sacred Heart honors the French victims of the Franco-Prussian war of 1870.
If you are going to visit Montmartre, then undoubtedly do visit the Square of Tertre. There are many artists who exhibit their work or paint tourists. Also, place du Tertre is a reminder of the time when Montmartre was the heart of modern art in the early 20th century; many artists such as Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh worked there. An approximately couple of meters away is the Espace Salvador Dalí, a museum dedicated predominantly to sculpture and drawings of the Spanish painter.

5. Cruise on the Seine

If you are in Paris, you should not miss the cruise on the Seine, especially at night. This is may be the best attraction for the new-married couples to have a romantic dinner on a broad and enjoy the beauty of Paris: Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Pont Alexandre III and others. You can get acquainted with the prices and buy tickets online to have the cruise the day you want.

So, based on my personal experience I separated these 5 places to visit while you are in Paris. To have a better schedule and manage my time optimally I used an online trip planner tool, and had a really great itinerary and fully enjoyed my trip in 5-days.
