One of the best beach destinations in the world is in Myanmar (Burma).  Ngapali beach is long, the sand is cool and soft, the sea is gentle and warm, and there are none of the pesky annoyance found on many beaches. No bugs, no vendors, and no rip tides. Like the rest of Myanmar the beach is very safe.  If that sounds amazing, it is.  Amazing Resorts Ngapali is located on the Bay of Bengal and while it is growing in popularity, especially with Europeans, it is one of the most beautiful, unspoiled beaches in the world.

 

Go to a place with a beautiful long sweeping beach the Americans haven’t discovered but the Europeans have – the Holiday Inn in Cha’am, Thailand.  Consequently, the prices are moderate. Located on a long sweeping beach on the sunrise side of the Gulf of Thailand the Holiday Inn is a full-service resort that has long been the favorite of Europeans but little known to North Americans.  There are two pools but the long sandy beach is perfect for strolling and is extremely wide when the tide is out making it a favorite time for shell hunting.

 

Both destinations are great places to get away for the winter. Visit them while the prices are reasonable, reservations are available – most of the time – and before they are discovered the American tourists.  Even the new, savvy, moneyed Russians have not yet discovered these two great getaways.
