Kamandalu Resort and Spa

The name Kamandalu comes from a Sanskrit term for 'the vessel that holds the holy water," and water is everywhere to be seen at this Bali resort - even though it's not on the beach. The tranquil retreat, featuring 56 villas built in the style of a Balinese village, is set in the hills of Ubud, known for royal palaces and traditional Balinese arts. The views are of terraced rice paddies, tropical forests, and the flowing Petanu River. Take a dip in one of the largest pools in the area, complete with swim-up bar.
