Brand Wales

Thanks Paul for your comments on Brand Wales.

I did a quick and dirty poll as to whcih nations would top an unofficial 'Original Thinking' league table - Wales's big brand idea as suggested at the WalesTheBrand website. Sadly, for Wales, it didn't even make it in the Top Ten. And to make matters worse, its next door neighbour - Brand England - came out on top.

Stay tuned to my blog as to what Brand Wales needs to do if it is to emerge from forever being tagged as an England & Wales also-ran, instead of a front runner: Wales & England.

But first it has to rid itself of ideas it can't possibly own such as 'Big Country' (a previous major campaign) and 'Original Thinking'.

I'm not quite sure that's reflective of Wales' "brand." I'd say those are Welsh icons.

The Wales brand is about the people, culture and originality. As we say for Visit Wales, the "sense of place."

Anyone interested in how we see our brand might find out WalesTheBrand.com website interesting.
