Need hotel in London relatively near Paddington

Anyone have a recommendation for a London hotel near Paddington (a few miles is fine) safe, inexpensive?

In the UK, Radisson Edwardian, Le Meridien, Sofitel, Thistle and Best Western are all good, solid choices, as are many of the independent hotels. If you feel like splashing out, as the Brits say, on a fabulous place, check out One Aldwych. It's sleek, modern and ultra-comfortable--and how can you beat the indoor pool with the underwater music system? I love that! One Aldwych has a summer deal on now, but If you don't want to go that high, maybe just swing by for a drink in the bar. Enjoy!
