Getting into travel publications

We have a B&B and Wedding/Convention facility in Leavenworth, WA.   I am trying to find the best way to get into all the travel guides and magazines.  I know I can buy adds but some of my competitors are always mentioned as the place to stay when they talk about lodging.  Most of them only mention one or two.  How do I go about getting mine on those list?

Any help you can give is great.

I suggest you invite the travel press/blogging community to visit your location. I know we only write about locations where we have personally stayed. If we visit a property we enjoy we ask if they would consider offering discounts for our members, too. This encourages word of mouth advertising. [e-mail]

We too only write about properties we have visited and photographed. Those people who reach out to us and understand our publications and our audience are the most likely to be included provided it's a mutual fit. Are you familiar with the publications your target audience likes? Consider reaching out your top picks first. Hope that helps!
