How do you choose your travel destination?

The world is a big place and the choices for travel are endless. So how do you make your decision about where to travel next. Do you ask a travel professional, relatives and friends, or is it a destination you have read about either in a travel article or book? Or maybe it is a particular interest...history, food, wine, culture.

I get my ideas from travel programs,forums, family and books. I normally try to watch the news to time certain trips.I held off for years going to Iceland because it was so expensive.When I heard about the banking crises there ,I knew that is was finally time to plan a trip and I went last summer.

As a travel writer, sometimes that decision is made for me! Otherwise, it's based on personal likes and interests - also on if I have accumulated enough miles to get a free ticket to a place I want to visit..

I normally choose the travel agency which is approved and licensed by the Government. As well the recommended company which offers very unique and uncommon trip unlike others offers almost the same programme.
