Get thee to the beach! Even if it's just for an hour. I was there a few years ago with my Italian family (my cousin-in-law, if that makes any sense, has an apartment there near the beach). It's such a classic Italian beach vacation experience!

On the cultural side dont miss the Tempio Malatestiano, it's a fifteenth century church built by the powerful Malatesta family (their name, believe it or not, means "bad head"). It's a pretty striking place.

Of course, if you had time I'd say go to Ravenna, where they have the most amazing early Christian churches and byzantine style mosaics.

And if you need sombody to carry your luggage... gimme a call!!

I was in Rimini the last Summer, it is really a very beautiful town of Italy. When I went I use a brochure touristic from the office of Tourism and they have a copy on-line, you can get it here: http://www.riminiturismo.it/uWeb/upload/File/guida%20della%20citta/...

It is very complete and it shows you everything you must to see and do in Rimini.

My favorite? The Roman Bridge, it is increible that after 2000 years it still works, and it is beautifull!! (May be we need to get some Ancient Romans to construct our maritime Oil Wells!!!!!)

Here is a picture of the bridge. I also love to walk the little medival streets.

Have a great trip!
I LOVE the bridge!!! Definitely, there is so much to do in Rimini. Emma, you will have a wonderful time.

Joseba, what kind of name is that???
Eat!

The food is great - try the piadina if you want something on-the-go otherwise go to Il Pescato del Canevone where you will find Alberto and Arianna, the owners
The freshness of the fish served here is assured by the fact that Alberto's family has for three generations plied the Adriatic Sea in their own fishing boat. Ancient brick walls and beamed ceiling contribute to the Medieval tavern feel of the place while contemporary art work adds a welcome touch of color. Fish and seafood are the stars of the show but classic local pasta dishes like tortellini and tagliatelle make an appearance, too.
I have a free evening in my itinerary on Thursday, do you have the contact details for II Pescato del Canevone?

I would love to go there for dinner, and perhaps review the restaurant.

Thanks for all your comments and your heads up - they have been fab! I will keep you posted on your recommendations.

Wendy if you're around come out for a cocktail...

Joseba - I will check out the online brochure

Cheers! M :)

Hi Wendy, Joseba = Joseph in Basque. My last name Basabe = woods o forest. You can call me Joe Woods. ;-)

Let us know how you're trip go, Emma!
Sure!
Address:
Via Luigi Tonini, 34
Rimini 47900
Phone: 0541 23 491

Apparently they just open "Il giardino del pescato", their patio.

Let me also say this: Il Pescato is part of Select Italy's T4T (Tips for the Travelers) - an exclusive, searchable data base of more than 2,200 specially-selected insider tips covering the whole country, open only to Travel Agents that can use this resource to amaze their customers with their knowledge of Italy. They can create their own list, print it out with their agency's logo and make the T4T list part of their customer's travel packages.

Let me know!
Ciao,
Andrea
