AMAZONIAN TRIPS - CHULLACHAQUI LODGE
ANSWER THE CALL OF THE AMAZON
Where Nature is nurture!
The mighty Amazon River flows past mythical forests. The reflection of the deep greens of the jungle and wide blue skies on the river’s dark water create a special magic.
The Amazon is full of regional myths and secrets. Here, biological diversity is at its richest: pink and gray dolphins rule the river and lily pads grow as big as small swimming pools. Sloths and Iguana are common jungle creatures, and the jewel-like colors of the bird life are stunning.
Chullachaqui Lodge is set in the middle of a jungle paradise. Located on the Rio Tapira, a tributary of the Amazon, it is just two hours by speedboat, up the Amazon River. The lodge is only 97 kilometers from Iquitos, the capital of the Peruvian Amazon. The city with its artful cosmopolitan buildings, and colorful native markets, is the starting point for expeditions into the breathtaking jungle. Our lodge, constructed with local materials in the traditional way, combines the best of both worlds: comfort and the perfect place to enjoy both the jungle and the river. Our lodge staff are locals, from nearby jungle communities, and are extremely knowledgeable of the area, and they are very enthusiast to share this knowledge with our guests.
Eco-cultural activities are organized to promote sustainable tourism. These include hiking through the primary jungle, piranha fishing, tours to spot and learn about exotic animals such as sloths, caimans, pink and gray dolphins, reptiles, amphibians, insects, butterflies, monkeys and birds of all sorts and, of course the fauna with its impressive trees, flowers and medicinal plants. Visits are arranged to local jungle communities where we do many cooperative activities.
Amazonian Trips is the agency that specializes in organizing trips to Chullachaqui Lodge and the Amazonian Rainforest. It is our mission to reveal Amazonia to our guests in a way that provides an understanding of how ecologically important and critical the Amazon is to our world. We want our guests to enjoy an experience that will give them a life long connection to the Amazon and when they leave we want them to go with memories that will last a lifetime. We keep our groups small and intimate and our excursions can be customized to suit the needs of our guests.
