Hi Leyla,

I have to recommend you that to the North you take a guide with you, since the public transportation would not fit for you...It is not going to be that expensive if you realize the help they might give to you in visiting the most attractive locations.

They would help you with the rental car service as well and they are reliable. Then for the south i think it is much easier and with some directions you could manage it very well on your own.

I have to ask for the best itinerary, but it is very easy since the roads to the south are good ones.

It is fine to meet on your first day here, just let me know the time and place in advance.

I will ask the tour operator for the above and let you know,

Regards,

Gerti

Dear Leyla,

I had to consult a professional tour operator to support you and they gave me some advice regarding your Intinerary. Since Valbona is to the opposite side of Thethi and there is no direct national road to it, unless you want to walk, but that would take more than 3 days.

They suggested me 2 options like below:

OPTION 1 – If you want to visit THETH

1 / Tirane APT – Shkoder

2 / Shkoder – Theth

3 / Theth

4 / Theth – Kruje

5 / Kruje – Durres

6 / Durres – Elbasan – Pogradec – Korce

7 / Korce – Permet – Gjirokaster

8 / Gjirokaster – Sarande

9 / Sarande – Butrint – Sarande

10 / Sarande – Vlore

11 / Vlore – Berat – Tirane

12 / Tirane

13 / Tirane – APT

OPTION 2 – If you want to visit VALBONA

1 / Tirane APT – Shkoder

2 / Shkoder – Koman – Trageti Fierz – Valbone – Bajram Curri

3 / Bajram Curri – Prizren – Durres

4 / Durres – Elbasan – Pogradec – Korce

5 / Korce – Permet – Gjirokaster

6 / Gjirokaster – Sarande

7 / Sarande – Butrint – Sarande

8 / Sarande – Vlore

9 / Vlore – Berat

10 / Berat – Kruje

11 / Kruje – Tirane

12/ Tirane – Apt

These is a really experienced agency operating in the country for so long and they could guide you for the entire travel and provide you anything.

Let me know which way is better for you and i suppose they will give their quotation on that.

All the best,

Gerti

Leyla,

All you said surely make sense. Koman Ferry and Thethi are some of the most beautiful unique location in the north of Albania. It is true that the road is somehow difficult, but there are special guides that use to work there daily on the purpose to guide tourists and they do know the place very well. It is their daily routine and they have the neccessary equipments and vehicles.

Regarding South it is fine, you may use a small rented car since the roads are very good, since those are reconstructed the last years.

Let me know if there is anything else you need,

Gerti

Hi Leyla,

Sorry for my late reply, but i have been out of office for some times. Anyway i am glad you are planning a visit in Albania and i truly believe you are going to have a lot of things to see that will be a special experience for you.

Now, i would suggest 2 options for your trip:

1. An Agency that will guide you on your whole trip. I could refer you 2-3 best agencies in the country with long experience. For this you have to share your trip details with them and they would offer you a quotation on that.

2. You do the trip on your own, and i would be happy to welcome you and provide you basic information, maps, places to go and the Rent Company. You could choose of global brands of renting companies like Avis, Hertz etc...

As i see from your profile we both operate in the same field. I do own an Online News Agency named Infoalbania.org and i think we could exchange a lot of information together.

Hope i have helped you with this,

Best Regards,

Gerti
