Myanmar is an amazing country with many unique place to visit and things to experience.

 

Yangon (Rangoon): While Yangon is no longer the capital city, it does have the most important temple Shwedagon Pagoda dates back 2500 years. The pagoda’s 320-foot high golden stupa can be seen from most places throughout the city. There are also interesting museums to visit.

 

Bagan: Bagan is one of the top archeological sites of the world.  It was the capital of the first Myanma Kingdom and has over 2000 Buddhist monuments some of which date from the 10th century. The best way to see this magnificent archaeological site is to climb the highest temple you are allowed to climb and marvel at the panoramic view of the plains dotted with hundreds of temples.

 

Mandalay: Mandalay, located on the Irrawaddy River, was the last seat of the Myanmar king who reigned from 1853 to 1878 and is home to his royal palace which is surrounded by an impressive moat.  It is near many of the former colonial hill station and other cultural attractions.

 

Lake Inle: The beautiful lake is located in the highlands offering a cool respite from the heat. The local people live in stilted houses on the lake and grow their vegetables on floating gardens.  The fishermen are skilled boatman famous for their unique style of rowing with one leg.

 

Ngapali Beach: Located on the Bay of Bengal, Ngapali is one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. The white sand beach is sandwiched between towering palms and the gentle water of the Bay of Bengal offering one of the few places in the world to escape the modern world.
