When the new owners of The Inn of the White Salmon acquired the vintage hotel located in the scenic hub of one of the Pacific Northwest's richest recreational and viticultural areas, they had a clear vision. The guest rooms were a dated hodgepodge of grandmother's attic furnishings and the amenities were minimal. Today, the inn has been transformed into one of Washington's great European-style boutique inns, offering deluxe suites and standard rooms as well as an alpine hostel for budget travelers. The updated ambiance remains casual and caters to both adventure-seekers and weekend romantics.

The inn is located in the small country town of White Salmon on the north shore of the beathtaking Columbia Gorge where the Columbia River slices a path through the Cascade Range, with two major volcanoes flanking the river - the more than 12,000-foot Mt. Adams and the 11,000-plus-foot Mt Hood. The innkeepers sweeten guests stays by offering seasonal packages that include guided activities to suit any interest, from wine tasting tours at the nearby wineries to the thrill of whitewater rafting, from naturalist-guided wildflower and birding hikes to snowshoeing treks and much more. The Inn of the White Salmon is one of Washington's great finds and regular guests keep coming back for more.
