When travelling throughout Europe, one of the most enjoyable things is viewing the amazing architecture and artwork collections found in almost every major city.

Due in part to its free admission but more so due to its over 2,300 paintings on display, The National Gallery in London, England, is one of the most popular museums in all of Europe offering works from famous artists such as Renoir and Monet.

When visiting The National Gallery, it may seem almost overwhelming to think about possibly viewing such an extensive collection but The National Gallery has eased that burden by providing their list of 30 paintings that must be seen during any visit.  They include Samson and Delilah by Peter Paul Rubens and The Adoration of the Kings by Jan Gossaert.

If you’ve always dreamed of working in the art world amongst these fabulous pieces, you may want to consider going to school at a California college like the University of Redlands.  Here, Art History students learn about the classics by studying a variety of media including fine art paintings, sculptures and even more modern art including photography and film.

It’s also possible to get a business degree at the University of Redlands which would offer another way of fulfilling career dreams of working in the art field.  Graduates would establish sound business knowledge which could allow them to work in a museum or art gallery management position.

There’s a section on The National Gallery website called ‘Working with The National Gallery Company’ which offers information on pursuing a career within the gallery plus it offers a listing of jobs currently available.
