How long is the Langtang Trek? An important subject that all interested trekkers like to know the distance of walks. Also, the time and duration to reach Langtang valley, where Kyanjin is located the main destination of Langtang Trek. Langtang Himal and its beautiful valley located within Central Himalaya, and the closest Himalaya mountain range from the capital Kathmandu. 

 Langtang Himal, aerial distance as the crow fly is 32 km north of Kathmandu close to Nepal / Tibet border. Compared to other high Himalaya regions, Langtang trek is the nearest mountain destination taking a week-long walk both ways. In comparison to other mainstream trekking areas of Everest and Annapurna, Langtang is the third popular and scenic trekking region.

Langtang Trekking falls within Langtang National Park covers an area of 1,710 sq. km, the first mountain national park of Nepal. There are a few variations that one can trek and reach at Kyanjin, the main highlight destination of Langtang trek. For instance, on a normal standard trekking itinerary, it takes 7 nights and 8 days, with rest and extra days. Includes overland journey to and from Kathmandu, where the drive ends at Syabrubesi village the starting and ending point of the trek. 

Although the nearest mountain destination Langtang trekking area, but the drive can take nearly six hours or more. Where journey leads on a winding uphill road to reach Dhunche, the headquarter town of Rasuwa district and Langtang Himal region.Starting walk from Syabrubesi, a village populated with Tamang the indigenous tribe of Himalayan high hills. The Tamang interwoven to Buddhism religion concentrated more within Central Himalaya and Langtang Himal as well around the Kathmandu valley rim. Syabrubesi village, located on the junction of the road to the Tibet / China border and towards Ganesh Himal and Ruby Valley. As well as the main starting point to Langtang Valley and back on the road-head at Syabrubesi to complete the trek.  

Walk on the high trail into a lovely forest of pines and rhododendron trees and soon vegetation and tree lines drop. As route finally leads into scenic Langtang valley at Kyanjin, located above 3,800 m surrounded by high snow-capped peaks.The trek from Syabrubesi village after the drive from Kathmandu taking 4 days, with overnight stops in the following designated places. The first night at Syabrubesi, then at Lama Hotel continues to Langtang village on the third day, and lastly at Kyanjin.

 The return journey much easier the downhill, after spending rest days in Kyanjin within Langtang valley for a local scenic hike. Heading back to Syabrubesi, within two days from Kyanjin and next day drive to Kathmandu. After covering a week-long trek on the Langtang Himal region with glorious experience and adventure. The other route to Langtang valley, to enjoy more around beautiful high hills can be done with a few day’s extension. For instance, drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche town and climb to Singh Gompa for the second overnight stop.  

From lovely Singh, Gompa walks to Upper Syabru or Thulo Syabru to reach at Lama Hotel and continue towards Kyanjin. On reaching Langtang valley walk to Syabrubesi for a drive to Kathmandu, after 9 nights and 10 days trek to Langtang. Furthermore, there are more ways to enjoy the Langtang trek it entirely depends upon one interest and duration of the holiday in Nepal. Langtang trek offers varied different routes as per your physical fitness to tackle higher altitudes.  

Where you can enjoy the Langtang Valley Trek at its best extending your walking days, exploring hidden corners of Langtang valley. Besides Langtang Valley, there are more areas around the Langtang Himal range to visit and to soak within beautiful surroundings. A week-long trek or of more duration on Langtang Trek provides an excellent way to witness rural farm villages. As the trek to Langtang and its villages enriched with age-old culture and traditions, a great way to experience.
