Director of Tourism for The Lynchburg Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau (currently), previously Director of Tourism for Bedford, Virginia (2007-2014), Director of Tourism for Staunton, VA (1989-2007), Petersburg, VA Tourism (1984-1989), Richmond-on-the-James, inc. and the Richmond Convention & Visitors Burea prior to that. Past president of the Virginia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (VACVB); past president of the Shenandoah Valley Travel Association (SVTA) and past-president of the Travel component of the Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association (VHTA), Secretary of the Blue Ridge Parkway Association.
On which destinations & travel topics can you advise members especially well?
Basically anywhere in Virginia and much of the United States and Canada. Also the U.K. where I have studied and many other European countries. Historic cemeteries throughout Virginia and several other states. Some European cemeteries as well. I have led many tours dealing with historic architecture and an authority of early film star and interior designer William (Billy) Haines.
What destinations are you most interested in learning about?
All.
Other travel / language expertise?
Limited languages (sorry to say). Have travelled extensively via Amtrak across the United States. Crossed the Atlantic as a child on the S.S. United States....wish I could do that again!

And don't forget the legendary "Peaks of Otter" along the Blue Ridge Parkway!

The "Peaks of Otter" is certainly one of the great stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway...between Natural Bridge and Roanoke. The Peaks of Otter Lodge has recently re-opened under new management (Delaware North) and the hike to the top of Sharp Top offers breathtaking views.
