Heading to Hawaii for 1 week, want to see as much as possible!

Hello all!

I will be going to be in Waikiki for a week and really have no idea where to start. I know that there is much to see just on Oahu alone, but I have a very limited amount of time and I do not have any plans to rent a car unless I absolutely have to. I would like to see Pearl Harbor for obvious reasons, but besides that, I am not too familiar with any other sights there on Oahu. I also hear that the volcano on the Big Island is really an amazing sight to see, but is it difficult to get there? Since I have already booked my hotel in Waikiki for the week , and I don't want to pay for another, is it worth going to another island for just a day? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

You are in luck Steve! You seem like a perfect candidate for a tour with Discover Hawaii Tours. We offer a wide variety of tours that will pick you up and drop you off directly from your Waikiki Hotel. We Have Pearl Harbor Tours, Polynesian Cultural Tours, Eco Tours, Big Island Tours, and even tours on Maui.

Don't you worry about having to island hop. We will take care of your airfare for any tour where it would be needed.

Have a great time in Hawaii Steve! We look forward to Serving you!

There's so much to do--and without knowing your interests, it's hard to advise. Definitely check out the organized tours--whether you take them or not, they provide a good idea of what's available. And for a lot of the sites, they are the best way to go, since you won't need to rent a car.

Pearl Harbor is one site you can do on your own if you allow plenty of time and avoid holidays. You'll need to go early unless you take a tour, but that's ok. There's a free shuttle to the Missouri (but you'll need to pay for admission/headset tour), which I found more fascinating than Pearl Harbor itself. You can easily fly in and out of the Big Island in one day, rent a car, and explore the volcano. It's expensive--book as much in advance as possible.

Here are some places that you can explore in the limited budget.

1. Ala Moana Beach Park
2. Waikiki Beach
3. Diamond Head State Monument
4. Hawaii's International Marketplace
5. Waikiki Beach Walk
6. Waikiki Aquarium
7. Watch a Real Sunset

Moreover you can do surfing, shopping & dining and play water sports. Hope it helps you.
