We're taking a late August trip to Hershey Park. Does anyone have recommendations for suite/villa family accommodations in the area? Thanks.

I certainly recommend several chocolate spa treatments and roundtrips on the roller coaster. But that's not what you asked, so here goes:

Within the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts properties (the official properties of Hersheypark, so they come with some nice benefits like early admission, free shuttle service to the Park, etc.), the Woodside Cottages at The Hotel Hershey were designed with families/groups in mind. They're like houses that feature four or six bedrooms, plus common areas. Now, they may be TOO big for your family, Mark (I don't how many of you there are), but the advantage of this sort of thing is that you're not spending money eating every meal at a restaurant.

For a more traditional approach to suites, several other hotels in the area are categorized as "suite" properties. They're listed below. I'm not positive about room structures in these, but as you see by their names, they're marketed as suites.

Hampton Inn & Suites

Comfort Suites Hershey

Comfort Suites Hershey/Harrisburg

Country Inn & Suites

Springhill Suites Harrisburg/Hershey

Mainstay Suites

Some of the suites come with serious kitchen facilities; for others, it's basically a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker (which may do the trick for breakfasts and even for some dinners, if you buy prepared foods). All of these properties can be booked by calling 1-800-HERSHEY. Though that's a reservations office operated by Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, the agents have the ability to book into HE&R properties AND about 20 other partner hotels in or near the town of Hershey.

Let us know what you end up doing, Mark, and have a great time.

Thanks Ed - great info.
Hi, Mark.  I'd be happy to help you find something suitable for your family's August vacation.  Inbox me your dates and an email address so we can discuss.  I'm able to help you find the right property & book your accommodations.  Happy trails!

For the "complete experience," stay at the Hotel Hershey; it has a marvelous spa, great dining options, lovely accommodations, a botanical garden nearby and is very kid friendly. I stayed there myself a few years back, and loved every minute. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Thanks everyone. We ended up having a very nice trip, staying at the beautiful but expensive Hershey Hotel. Read my review here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g52819-d102251-r11831774...
