Hi, folks! As we wait for the Portlandophiles to weigh in, we recalled that a blog post that ran some time ago recommended several dining options, so you might want to have a look:

Bon voyage!

We were in Portland last year and took a foodie tour with Maine Foodie Tours. It was a great way to try a variety of restaurants and food shops and they were very open to travel writers. You can read about it here: http://www.wanderlustwonder.com/2011/11/19/eating-our-way-around-po... Our contact person was Pamela Laskey at pamela_laskey@yahoo.com.

Have fun!

If you enjoy charcuterie, then you must go to Olympic Provisions. They are masters at salami. I wrote about it here:
http://mslistologist.com/2012/10/a-meaty-chocolate-salami-in-portland/

...and OX has the best tripe & octopus dish :)

Well, Voodoo Donuts, of course!

There are "pods" of food carts in almost every neighborhood of Portland, many with outstanding food. This website http://www.foodcartsportland.com/ has write-ups about some, and maps for the locations.

November is a wonderful time to visit Oregon Wine Country, only about an hour from downtown Portland, and there are several outstanding restaurants in that area. Joel Palmer House in Dayton, Ponzi Bistro, The Painted Lady and Nick's Italian Cafe in McMinnville all specialize in pairing fresh northwest dishes with Oregon wines.
