I need a hotel in Beirut where a single woman can stay nice safe and centric and which doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions?

I stayed at the Bella Riva, a block from the water and several blocks from Hamra Street about 85 US a night - to be really central, and in an American chain, but it is more money, there is the Crowne Plaza on Hamra Street.

this site tells you locations and details on different hotels:

Good luck - Beirut is a very fun place to visit!

Thanks very much Michael. I opted for the Plaza Hotel in Hamra Street, price range the same, $95 and I hope I did ok. It got quite good reviews on tripadvisor. I'm sure Beirut is a fun place and I look forward to my stay.

Hi,

For people looking for a hotel in Beirut and Lebanon at best prices, have a look at www.hoojoozat.com. This is the only online hotel booking system in Lebanon with a huge choice of hotels in Lebanon but also all over the Middle East, Gulf, Europe etc.
