Hello!

I am looking for a furnished apt. in BA but am having some troubles finding a company that doesn't overcharge me because I'm American.

Does anyone have any suggestions for companies or sites to search on?

Thanks!

The cheapest is to look for ads in clarin, www.clarin.com but if you dont know Spanish and dont want to deal with installing things, that is not an option.......otherwise try these places:

www.myapartmentabroad.com

www.bytargentina.com

www.bestrentalsba.com

www.temporaryapartments.com.ar

Good luck...

Muchas gracias, Michael!

Hi Katherine,

I know it looks this way, but honestly, I don't think we are generally being overcharged in Argentina for being American. At the heart of the problem are the crazy laws and customs covering rentals in this country. There are no "month-to-month" contracts like in the US. Minimum contract is 2 years - AND you have to give a house or condo as collateral to get a rent contract. CRAZY. Since most of us don't exactly own property in Argentina, we are stuck with "extended" stay options, which cost pretty much as much as a hotel. Michael Luongo already gave you some excellent websites and I could only add Forcadell Appartments, which are nice and new, but also not cheap.

Hope this helps, have a great weekend,

Email : anamate@fibertel.com.ar
She has several apartments and usually has good prices, besides the apartments are beautifully decorated.

Hope this info has helped you.
Warm regards,
Fernando.
Suerte!!
Muchisimas gracias a todos!

Dear reader: I have been renting and living in apartments that are available to foreigners who reside in Buenos Aires for the last 4 years. I can recommend you Paula Carpi, Buenos Aires Rent. Her email is paula@buenosairesrent.com
All the foreigners rent through agencies like hers and I can assure you, American or not, all of us pay in dollars and the rates are approximately 1000 USD for a nice one bedroom apt in a good neighborhood.

Hope this helps, best
