Arenal, Costa Rica

I'm headed to Arenal, Costa Rica, and would like to know if anyone has been there? What are fun things to do, must see places, or a great bachelorette party place? If you know, please drop me a line.

Outside of San Jose and its surroundings, you are not likely to find bachelorette party places. And San Jose ain't Noo Yok, or Pari ;) Having said that; if in Arelan area, the decent place to stay (from atleast five years ago) was/is Tabacon Lodge and nearby Tabacon Springs. Few klicks down is the great lake, and you could go boating or hiking nearby. 

Costa Rica is nature and beach lovers paradise. I suggest you pick based on what you'd like to do the most. Whatever you'll do, do avoid a drunken bachelorette party by the beach or downtown SJO to avoid natural and man-made accident/incident.

Danielle, What is your purpose in going to Arenal?  How did you pick that place?  I've been to Costa Rica a number of time, the latest was last year.  What do you REALLY want to know about it?
