Hi there,

I'm going to Albania for two weeks end August-beginning September and I'd like to visit both North and South. Right now that seems quite difficult because of transport. Is there any sensible way I can do this? thank you!

Leyla, contact Gerti Boshnjaku of InfoAlbania.org.  I think the email address is marketing@newmedia.al . Boshnjaku is also a member of Tripatini; here's a link to his profile page:  http://www.tripatini.com/profile/GertiBoshnjaku

Thank you Ed - much appreciated!

Dear Layla,

Great to hear that you are planning to visit Albania!

Do you have a little more specific itinerary in mind? Then I can help you with some more specific information :)

In General:

- Do you have a driving license? If you have one I would advise you to rent a car for the South-part of the trip instead of relying on public transport since many of the busses and furgons (minibusses) only leave early in the morning and you have limited time. However if you don't have a driving license no problem, it is still possible to visit to South and see some beautiful places, you will just have to take the bus times into account.

-For the North part of the trip you will either have to go by public transport (no problem, just keep in mind that the busses usually leave very early and that there is only 1 or only a few buses per day) or rent a 4x4.

If you would like to explore the country with a guide or join a small group tour then please send your wishes to lieke@outdooralbania.com and I will help you.

Leyla,

Visit this website to get some more details about Albania. It is in Albanian but you may use google translate to help you see it.
