Terra del Fuego is my favorite. You cannot go wrong with the foot of Andes mountains. And, Mendoza Valley if you love wine.

Hi, I would suggest you to include Bariloche and Perito Moreno in your trip. Both destinations are worth the travel.

Sam, what do you most like to see -- natural vistas? urban grandeur? history? art museums?

All of the above  sound great. I'm more drawn to natural sites and museums.

I haven't visited Argentina since I was a teenager and although I'm still a young man, but without doubt some things have changed just as I'm sure I have changed. Your question made me wonder what information this site has on Argentina. I found this list of blog posts:

Of course, I did not find all of them useful, but the blog post on San Telmo and some of the others are must-reads. Enjoy your trip!

Sam.....I am the author of Frommers Buenos Aires...certainly too many ideas there to list, but Buenos Aires the capital, maybe head to San Antonio de Areco, for gaucho things......Tigre, an island area an hour or so from Buenos Aires. Cordoba is great, a Jesuit region, and Iguazu.........and Mendoza for wine....don't forget you now pay a cisa reciprocity fee when you land in Buenos Aires, I think $150, per person, good for ten years or the end of your passport....some of my article links for ideas are at www.misterbuenosaires.com   have fun!.........Mike
