Does anyone have a recommendation for a 5 star hotel in the Maldives for a honeymoon couple.

Also information on their nightlife.

To choose the Maldives for a honeymoon spot is excellent. Having the most beautiful waters on earth, The Maldives enjoy the beauty of the reef surrounding them and also magnificent resorts. These group of atolls draw the best and the most discerning traveler. Each atoll ( except the main island of the capital Male') has it's own resort or two.

The Maldives is a destination for those who need complete luxury and relaxation. As for the nightlife, each resort has its own entertainment such as nightclubs, stage show etc..

Because of the strategic location of the atolls to move from one atoll to the other one must do so either via seaplane or motorboat( available during the daylight hours). As for the 5 star resorts some suggestions are as follows:

1. Sun Island resort all inclusive (in the Maldives you can do all inclusive of meals ( no alcohol beverages)
2. Shangri La's Villingili Resort and Spa
3. Six Senses Latitude Laamu

These are top 5 star properties designed for extreme luxury . The others are not all inclusivce but we do have special packages to offer.

Maldives consists of about two dozen small islands. I do not know what would be constitute "nightlife" ? One could find beach parties; but at night ? Things would have to focus on bar scene or some disco-like clubs, if any. My experience is many years old.

There are a number of lovely resorts in the Maldives, and most of them are of a similar 5-star standard... with over-water villas, and total luxury - so you can't really go wrong!
If you're looking for a bit of nightlife, then the Huvafen Fushi resort is the funkiest, and have a really cool beachside lounge bar, with Buddha Bar DJs often in attendance.
Other than that, great romance-geared resorts I would recommend (depending on budgets of course) are the One & Only Reethi Rah and the Anantara, as well as the Six Senses ones (which someone else has also recommended).
