We'll be spending eight days in Antibes this fall, staying near the

Musée Picasso. I am still mulling over whether to rent a car or not. We have several friends in Grasse and want to spend time with them but the problem seems to be finding nearby parking as it's not included with our unit. There are some public lots in the area, perhaps a 15 minute walk back to our accommodations and I can't see to find any info about rates. Any ideas/info/suggestions would be appreciated.

You will need to rent car  - and bear and grin it if you want to leave Antibes. Since you're not renting during "high" season, you may be able to find a parking place closer to your unit.  We've found Auto Europe to have the best rates and will march a less expensive one if you happen to find it.

Enjoy - that's a beautiful part of France.

There is parking nearby but I'm wondering why you'd need to rent a car.  Train service to Grasse is inexpensive, fast, and frequent.  The train station is not too far from where you'll be.  You can also get to many other areas along the Cote 'd Azure from there via train.  Cannes, Monaco, Nice, and Menton are just a few I can think of off the top of my head.

Check this report on a trip we did in that area (including a day at Grasse) without using any kind of car, except the taxi from the airport:

There is parking in Antibes, and not far from the museum, (Hotel Royal?) but I would not rent a car. The train station is 10 to 15 mins walk - or there's a bus. ALL trains stop at Antibes - even TGV - and Grasse is easily accessible. Enjoy your stay and have a meal at the Auberge Provencal - Graham Greene's favourite.

From Antibes and to go to Grasse, you have a train every hour but it seems not have bus...strange
